One-Bot workflow

Personal morning newspaper

A one-page edition built from selected calendar items, actionable messages and one chosen interest, ready for review and optional printing.

Designed for: People who want a short, useful morning read instead of beginning with an endless feed

Full workflow and setup details
Before you begin

Gather the information the Bot needs

  • Selected or fictional calendar entries and messages
  • An optional approved source about one interest
  • Timezone, page size, exclusions and delivery preference
Operating guide

Know when to run it and who leads

Lead Bot
Daily Newspaper
Typical first run
15–30 minutes for a first manual run
When to run it
Each workday, after a person starts or approves the run

Use this workflow when you need a one-page edition built from selected calendar items, actionable messages and one chosen interest, ready for review and optional printing.

Access for the first run
  • The approved inputs listed on this page
  • Only the files, sources, and services required for this run
  • No sending, publishing, spending, or live-system changes without approval
Run the first version one step at a time

Give one Bot the complete job

Use one Bot for the first run. Add a specialist only when the job becomes complicated enough to need a separate role, different access, or independent review.

Daily Newspaper

Read the approved sources, choose and organize the useful items, write the one-page edition, save the file, and ask before printing or scheduling

Produces: A readable edition, source notes, and a saved file ready for review
Use the approved inputs I provide. Read the approved sources, choose and organize the useful items, write the one-page edition, save the file, and ask before printing or scheduling. Return this result: A readable edition, source notes, and a saved file ready for review. Ask me about missing information before you continue.

Overall request

Create a sample one-page morning newspaper from only the supplied calendar entries, messages and optional source. Preserve dates and timezones, cite every item, mark missing context, keep correction notes outside the edition, and do not connect accounts, schedule, send or print anything.

Use this as the complete first-run request.

Decisions for a person

  • Choose sources and private-topic exclusions
  • Approve every connected account, schedule and delivery path
  • Approve a single print trial before recurring printing
First test

Try the workflow with low-risk material

Use fictional appointments and messages to make one page. Check every detail in print preview; do not schedule or print it yet.

Use this idea with another AI service

Choose the service that can do the job

Each option is labeled clearly. A similar-looking AI service may not have the same access, schedule, file or printing features.

Grok Bot

Original creator workflow

How it could work: Karen X. Cheng's Morning Newspaper turns selected personal information into a short paper edition that can print overnight.

Start here: Review the original marketplace item and its imported instructions before connecting sources. Start with a preview and confirm the exact delivery and printer path.

What we have not tested: Bot Cabinet checked the official listing, but has not run the Bot, checked its account access, scheduled it or tested its printing.

Hermes

One sample task passed

How it could work: Install the standalone Daily Newspaper profile, then give it selected or made-up calendar entries, messages and reading for one manual edition.

Start here: Open the Daily Newspaper page, review the profile and its access limits, download the Hermes archive, import it from Profiles in Hermes Desktop, and run the sample before adding any schedule or connection.

What we have not tested: One sample task with fictional inputs passed. Live account connections, unattended scheduling, repeated runs, saving, sending, printing and publication have not been tested.

Muse

What to check — not tested

How it could work: Ask Muse to make the same short edition from the connections your account can use. Then check whether it can save or deliver a printable file.

Start here: Make one sample first. Ask which information it can read, whether it can run each morning, where files are kept, what it costs and how to stop it.

What we have not tested: Meta says Muse can use connected apps and work in the background. Bot Cabinet has not tested this complete job or printing.

Instinct

What to check — not tested

How it could work: Give Instinct the same job and check which personal information, schedules and file types your account can use.

Start here: Ask for one preview. Before connecting accounts or making a daily routine, ask what it can access and what it needs permission to do.

What we have not tested: Bot Cabinet has not tested this with an Instinct account, confirmed its price, made a printable file or tested automatic printing.

Another agent or emerging tool

Use with another service

How it could work: Take the job description to any AI service that can read the information you choose, make a short document and wait for your approval before delivery.

Start here: Test it with made-up information. Check what it can read, whether it can run on a schedule, save a file, protect private data, control costs, report errors and stop cleanly.

What we have not tested: This setup has not been tested in other services. Check the sample edition and each account connection before adding a schedule or delivery.

Check the result

Check the result against your original material. You make the decisions listed below. Use fictional appointments and messages to make one page. Check every detail in print preview; do not schedule or print it yet.

If the workflow stalls

If the result is incomplete, mark the missing information and ask the same Bot to correct it. Add another Bot only when a genuinely separate role or independent check would help.

Set it up in Hermes Desktop

Begin with one Bot and one manual run

  1. Open the linked starter page, download its .tar.gz profile, and import it from the Profiles screen in Hermes Desktop.
  2. Review the profile’s SOUL.md, Bot Passport, and requested access.
  3. Run the complete request in that Bot’s chat with low-risk material and review the result.
  4. Add a schedule, outside connection, or optional specialist only after the manual version works.
